Alzheimer's Society Opens Vaughan Office
The Alzheimer’s Society of York Region recently celebrated a monumental occasion with the opening of their first office right here in the City of Vaughan. Joining members of the Alzheimer’s Society were many local dignitaries, including 5 members of Vaughan Council and local M.P.P. Greg Sorbara. Made possible by a grant from the Trillium Foundation, the Vaughan location will promote, raise funds, and act as a resource facility for Alzheimer’s disease. Distinguished Canadian artist J. Diane Styrmo was also on hand, as she has provided the artistic landscape that adorns the walls. Diane is a big supporter of the work done by the Alzheimer’s Society of York Region, and her art is used as a show of her support. The Alzheimer Society of York Region has been actively supporting individuals and families coping with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders since 1985.
