Spinning for Shining Through
Local fitness enthusiasts, and some who were new to the experience, recently enjoyed an afternoon of spinning for a great cause. The Al Palladini Community Centre was host to the Spinning for Shining Through event which took place on January 17th. Spinning is a form of indoor cycling, where riders use a stationary bike with variable tension settings to simulate a long and, at times, intense workout. Participants took to the bikes after raising pledges, in support of the Shining Through Centre. After an afternoon of sweating it out at Al Palladini, the Sunday cyclists definitely did their part to help worthy youngsters across the province.
With campuses located in Woodbridge and North York, the Shining Through Centre is regarded as a premier site in Ontario for support for children with Autism. The program is based on scientifically validated procedures of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), offered through one-on-one instruction for each child.
