St. David Juvenile Boys Basketball Team 7th Annual Fundraiser
St. David Blues Basketball of York is a local organization dedicated to the development and growth of the sport of basketball and, ultimately, those who choose to play it. On January 23rd, the Montecassino Place Banquet Hall was host to the group’s 7th annual Fundraising Dinner and Dance. The evening featured a full-course dinner, open-bar, raffles, and a Silent and Live Auction with the purpose of raising funds for an important entity in the community. Although basketball was invented by a Canadian, and the Toronto Raptors compete n the NBA, basketball has only recently seen a rise in popularity in Canada; thanks in part to the internet and sites like RealGM, but also due to the formation of groups like St. David’s working in part to help development one of the world’s most popular sports right here in this country.
