M.P.P. Greg Sorbara Visits Local School
This September, 39 schools across the York Region will be implementing an integrated day of learning and play as full-day learning is introduced. Children the ages of four and five will benefit from the Provincial Government initiative which affects 35,000 students in nearly 600 Ontario Schools. The goal is to introduce full-day learning into all schools by 2015-16 as it will directly affect enhanced social and educational levels of children entering the first grade. M.P.P. Greg Sorbara visited St. Clement’s Catholic Elementary School to discuss the project. “Creating an integrated day of learning and play, full-day learning will give children more opportunities for success,” said Sorbara. He added, “It is a key part of the government’s plan to build a stronger school system and a well-educated workforce.”
