2010 Chinese New Year Event
Local dignitaries and honoured guests gathered at the Food Court in Vaughan Mills to exclaim, “Gung hei faat coi” on February 13th to commemorate Chinese New Year celebrations. The site of the festivities was packed with attendees and well-wishers, which included government and law enforcement officials from throughout the York Region. Traditional dances and music were demonstrated throughout the proceedings which were kicked off by a rousing rendition of O’ Canada by local singing sensation Christopher Dallo. York Regional Police Chief Armand Le Barge offered his MC skills and knowledge to guests while greetings from numerous Chinese and Canadian notables were played on a screen in behind. This was the 2nd Annual Chinese New Year celebration in the City of Vaughan; organized by Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco with help from Vaughan Mills staff and Event Sponsor SkyHomes.
