City of Vaughan Staff Comes up Big in Support of United Way
At special presentation recently, during a Committee Meeting in Chambers, the Mayor and Members of Council presented Daniele Zanotti, Chief Executive Officer of the United Way of York Region, with a cheque for $59,347.
During the campaign period of October to December 2009, $43,386 was raised through staff donations and payroll deductions. In return, donors received incentives such as jeans days, participation in weekly prize draws, and the opportunity to win a week off with pay as the Grand Prize, made possible by the City Manager and each member of the Senior Management Team donating one of their vacation days.
Said City Manager Clayton Harris. “I applaud the committee, City staff and the Vaughan Public Libraries for raising a record amount of donations at a time when the community needs it most.”
