Students of Elder's Mills Public School Unveil Artwork

A picture is worth a thousand words. At the risk of using a common cliché, the students of Elder’s Mills Public School put their artistic skills to good use. The artwork portrays human suffering, such as the effects of HIV/AIDS on children in Africa. The students illustrated an understanding and artistic skill set that was beyond their years.
Their hard work, which began back in 2007, is now receiving great recognition. On February 1st at 1:30 pm, the art was showcased at the Al Palladini Community Centre, located at 9201 Islington Avenue in Woodbridge. The artwork was donated to the City of Vaughan and will remain at the Community Centre.
At the unveiling was Renuka de Silva, the students’ art teacher, as well as the artists and their parents. The community was invited to the unveiling and Councillor Tony Carella joined those in attendance by congratulating the young artists for their care and awareness in respect to their subject.
