The Bozzatto family presenting cheque to Shining Through

Spinning 4 Autism Cheque Presentation

Last month, we highlighted the 2nd Annual Spinning 4 Autism event at the Al Palladini Community Centre. Over 100 entrants were involved in the 5 hour event; providing support to Shining Through Centres in Woodbridge and Thornhill. On February 12th, Shining Through Centre received a cheque for $18,000 from event organizer Raffaela Bozzato as a direct result of the hard-work and determination of participants, organizers, and local dignitaries. Autism is recognized as the most common neurological disorder affecting children in Canada. An estimated 10,000 children are currently diagnosed with the disorder in Ontario. Committee members Carm Alfenore, Saveria Tornabene, and Pierina Magnifico joined Rafaela and her family at the presentation, highlighting the individuals who helped make all of this possible. The success of this year’s event has created a great sense of momentum which will hopefully carry through into next year’s fundraiser.
