Joe Carter & Friends at Eagles Nest
Joltin' Joe Carter is known for many things around the GTA, notably being the last man to have a World Series hit on Canadian soil. His Home Run in Game 6 to win the World Series still lives on as one of the greatest sporting moments ever. On June 23rd however, Carter and many notable faces made their way to Eagles Nest Golf Club in Vaughan for the inaugural Joe Carter and Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament. Joining Joe, among a slew of notable names, were Charles Barkley, Trish Stratus, & the NFL's Jonathan Ogden. According to Carter, "I'm really excited to launch our annual tournament in Toronto in support of the Children’s Aid Foundation."
While being a World Series hero is a claim to fame many dream of as they are growing up, beginning with this year’s tournament, Carter's contribution to the over 35,000 directly impacted annually by the work of the Childrenès Aid Foundation, will extend his heroic reach beyond historical on-field exploits; and into the daily lives of children who deserve the chance to be kids.
