New Chief of York Regional Police Sworn In
Eric Jolliffe was sworn in as the 7th Chief of Police of York Regional Police at a ceremony in York Regional Council Chambers before 200 dignitaries, York Regional Police members and special guests.
Chief Eric Jolliffe began his career with York Regional Police in 1981 and has served as Deputy Chief since 2002 when he was appointed to oversee the Operations of the Service. In 2005, he assumed the role of Deputy Chief of Administration. Over the next five years, Chief Jolliffe will lead the third largest municipal police service in Ontario - an organization of 2,000 members and 500 volunteers responsible for the safety of nearly 1.1 million residents in York Region.
