Sonoma Park Artificial Turf Soccer Field Opens
Soccer players and fans joined Mayor Bevilacqua and Members of Council on Wednesday to kick off the official opening of Sonoma Heights Community Park Artificial Turf Soccer Field.“Soccer is extremely popular in Vaughan and for those of us who enjoy the beautiful game, this new field is a great addition to our City,” said Mayor Bevilacqua. The Kleinburg Nobleton Soccer Club contributed $125,000 to the construction of the field.
Located at 100 Sunset Ridge, the field measures 110 by 68 metres and is built to FIFA 1 Star standards for a senior artificial turf soccer field. If features bleacher seating which can accommodate up to 140 people, a sports lighting system, scoreboard, players benches, asphalt walkway and chain-link fencing.
