4th Annual Dinner with Alessio
Autism is a neurological disorder that affects an individual’s way of communicating and socializing with others. Unfortunately, this is a difficult reality that is being faced by many families all over the world. One local family has taken matters into their own hands, bringing together family, friends, and supporters to help the life of their son that much easier through the generosity of others. On March 2nd at Bellvue Manor, a large group of people were on hand in support of the “4th Annual Dinner with Alessio- Raising awareness for Autism.”
Diagnosed at only 17 months old, Alessio’s parents arranged a therapy session for him at the early age of 18 months; unfortunately costs for his therapies were shockingly high. After the realization of this costly reality, loved ones of Alessio and the family began using the fundraiser as a means of alleviating many of the costs associated with his therapy. The evening was very successful. Guests of the event enjoyed themselves all night long with a fantastic dinner and some lively dancing shortly thereafter. A silent auction was held throughout the night, along with a variety of raffle prizes, giving guests the chance to bid on and win some incredible gifts and prizes. Thankfully, with the amazing support received from the annual dinners with Alessio, the young boy has now been receiving treatment for the last 3 and a half years while showing amazing improvement.
Now 5, Alessio’s journey through life is one that, while remaining difficult, will also be that much less of a struggle thanks to a group of people who pull out all the stops at an annual dinner in his honour.
