Texas Hold 'em Fundraiser
Texas Hold ‘em Poker is a popular variation to the classic card game enjoyed by millions of players. Made popular in casinos all around the world (especially Las Vegas) Texas Hold ‘em is a game of checks, bets, raises and folds. On February 24th, guests of the Woodbridge Strikers U-18 Girls attended the Royalton for the 4th annual "All In" Texas Hold ‘em poker night in support of the local team. While the occasion served to help raise funds for the upcoming outdoor season, almost all were geared up to turn their generosity into a personal gain! After a satisfying buffet dinner, poker faces set in and the mind games began. However, for those who had not yet reached the serious level of competition, beginner tables were set up and the hold ‘em rookies were given a lesson in the fine art of playing. A series of great prizes were handed to the card game winners of the night. The $8,000 raised will help in many ways, as the team embarks on many tournaments and a full league schedule. Hopefully, the team’s fortunes mirror those of Anthony, this year’s big winner!
