FCI Ballo in Maschera
While the city of Vaughan boasts incredible diversity, the Italian culture is definitely prevalent among residents and the youth in the communtiy. The Federazione Canadese Italiana (FCI), York University’s Italian Club, held its 5th annual Ballo in Maschera (meaning Masquerade Ball). The FCI’s executives and members strive to preserve Italian heritage, culture, and even language within York U and its surrounding communities. My oh my, was this a ball to remember. Although masks were not mandatory, the students attended the evening looking as chic as ever. Before individuals hit the dance floor, many aspects of Italian Culture was brought to life though many traditional songs, dances and of course, the food. With fantastic company and an exquisite meal, the evening was one that won’t be soon forgotten. Fino al prossimo anno (until next year) please visit www.fci.yfs.ca for more information on the group. Ciao!
