2012 Woodbridge-Vaughan MS Walk
While it may not have been one of the sunniest days this spring, April 22nd saw plenty of light radiating from the spirit of participants at this year’s Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society of Canada’s MS Walk 2012. An amazing crowd of families, neighbours and friends gathered together at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary for a great cause. With over 58 locations across Ontario participating in the MS Walk this year, the Woodbridge-Vaughan region helped this year’s walk become a province-wide success. Walkers laced up their shoes and got their strut on early that morning. Everyone enjoyed themselves as they walked through the neighbourhood. The reasons for walking differed. Some chose to walk in memory of a loved one, while others formed groups to combat the effects of this illness in general. After the Walkers returned from their journey, refreshments and great food were waiting for them at the school. Young children present at the event enjoyed a variety of activities, while some of the older participants had a shot at winning some great prizes. Money that was raised will support the MS Society’s mission to be a leader in finding a cure for MS, while assisting individuals currently living with this disease by providing programs and services.
