Jewels of the Opera Gala

Spirits might have been high, but vocals were even higher on March 31st at the Terrace Banquet Hall in Vaughan as York Opera hosted their Jewels of the Opera Gala. York Opera is a non-profit organization that features many artists on the rise. Guests were delighted with a fabulous dinner and had their senses serenaded with the joyful sounds of a few of the artists under the Opera York umbrella, such as a scene performed from La Traviata, along with a few other graceful performances. The evening was a fundraiser with the hopes of raising funds so that York Opera may put on their first-class performances of such plays as “Madame Butterfly” and “Fledermaus.” All in all, the fundraiser was a complete success as money was raised through a variety of activities such as both live and silent auctions. Guests enjoyed a night of what it must have felt like to be royalty at an opera performance. If interested in learning more about the group, visit www.operayork.com for more inquiries.
