City of Vaughan Recognizes Outstanding Volunteers

In celebration of National Volunteer Week (April 15th to 21st), the Mayor and Members of Council recognized their many volunteers from last year. On April 18th, these dedicated and hard working volunteers were rewarded during the City of Vaughan Recognition Awards Ceremony, held inside the Multi-Purpose Room at City Hall. This year’s theme was, “Volunteers: Passion, Action, Impact.” It was a wonderful experience as, one-by-one, each volunteer stepped up for a photo opportunity and a chance to receive a plaque to commemorate their contribution – all while each guests heard aloud why they were being singled out for their efforts. Whether it was organizing fundraising efforts within the community, or even giving of time to help with the execution of the Vaughan Celebrates events, these individuals have shown time and again that this city is blessed to have such passionate residents. Once the ceremony was completed, there was musical entertainment and light refreshments available to the volunteers and their guests.
